Surface - Current Selected (Selection is ongoing. New artists are being added.)
NxEra Art Gallery is pleased to present Cahide Bora, an artist who navigates the delicate boundary between fluid chance and scientific rigor. In her practice, the surface is not a static boundary, but a living dialogue between the ancient tradition of Ebru (marbling) and the precise observation of botanical illustration.
In Bora’s work, nothing is truly fixed. Her marbling captures the "nomadic spirit" of water, where pigments shift and dissolve into organic cells that feel simultaneously microscopic and vast. This liquid foundation is then anchored by her botanical studies—five years of disciplined focus that brings a quiet tension to the canvas. Here, the rhythm slows; line becomes structure, and the "raw, layered" reality of nature is revealed with surgical clarity.
Rather than placing tradition and contemporary science in opposition, Bora allows them to coexist. You do not just look at her work; you enter a space where memory, biology, and the transformative power of water begin to blur. NxEra is proud to include her unique voice in our curated international selection for the Surface Exhibition.
