Surface - Current Selected (Selection is ongoing. New artists are being added.)
Nxera Art Gallery is proud to introduce Donna Borgida for our exclusive Surface 2 Exhibition.
Donna Borgida is an American contemporary abstract painter based in the United States. Demonstrating an early mastery of her craft, Borgida held her first solo art exhibition at just 18 years old. She went on to major in Fine Arts at the State University of New York at Fredonia and refined her creative voice during a transformative year studying abroad at an art school in England. Following a highly successful creative career in the textile industry, she returned to painting full-time to focus exclusively on her fine art practice.
Driven by an exploration of juxtaposition and gradation, Borgida’s artwork seeks to find "cohesion from chaos". Her multi-layered creative process begins with a foundation of acrylic on canvas, where she introduces contrasting textures, techniques, and vibrant color projections. She frequently finishes her pieces with thin coats of shifting resin or experimental mixed-media attachments, adding a dimensional shimmer and a striking tactile physicality to her geometric grids and minimalist fields. Her sophisticated works have been showcased globally at prestigious venues and galleries, including her most recent showing in downtown Manhattan.
Her contemplative canvases offer viewers a serene sensory experience, where overlapping structural elements harmonize to evoke a deep sense of peace.
