Surface - Current Selected (Selection is ongoing. New artists are being added.)
NxEra Art Gallery is proud to introduce Erdal Bölükbaşı, a seasoned voice in Turkish contemporary painting whose work explores the evocative depth of the seascape and landscape. With a prolific career spanning over two decades and hundreds of exhibitions, Bölükbaşı brings a disciplined yet deeply emotional presence to the Surface Exhibition.
Bölükbaşı’s visual language is grounded in the tradition of oil and acrylic, yet it transcends mere representation. His practice is a study of stillness and duration—where the surface of the canvas becomes a quiet vessel for memory. Whether depicting the rhythmic "dance of waves" or the vast, silent expanses of the cosmos, his work resists the spectacle of the immediate, instead cultivating a sense of pause and atmospheric balance.
In this selection, Bölükbaşı invites the viewer into a slow, contemplative encounter with space and light. His measured color transitions and restrained gestures suggest that what we see on the surface is only the beginning of a much deeper, lived experience. We are honored to feature his work as part of our curated international spotlight in Manhattan.
