Surface - Current Selected (Selection is ongoing. New artists are being added.)
Nxera Art Gallery is proud to introduce Keisuke Takeda as a cornerstone of our Surface Exhibition, a showcase dedicated to the tactile and transformative power of materiality.
Based in Fujisawa, Japan, and a graduate of London’s Chelsea College of Arts, Takeda brings a sophisticated, international perspective to the exploration of organic texture. His canvases serve as a living dialogue between the natural world and the artist’s hand. By utilizing natural pigments derived from botanical elements, he moves beyond traditional paint to embrace the "atomic fragments" of the earth; grains of sand, petals, and raindrops.
In this exhibition, Takeda’s mastery lies in the weight of the deliberate brushstroke. These gestures are more than marks; they are atmospheric catalysts inspired by the strenuous motion of a dancer. By capturing the resonance of light, shadow, and wind, Takeda visualizes abstract existences that might otherwise disappear.
Within the context of Surface, Takeda invites us to look beneath the pigment. His work is a reminder that there are no unconditional in our world, urging the viewer to ascertain the true value of their surroundings through the raw, unrefined essence of his craft.
