After transitioning from business administration to the plastic arts, Uçku refined her vision under the mentorship of Turkish avant-garde masters, including Prof. Özdemir Altan and Prof. Ergin İnan.
Uçku’s technical mastery is deeply informed by her scholarly background. Holding a Doctorate in Art, her expertise is anchored in the legacy of Abstract Expressionism, specifically the layered, transformative techniques of Gerhard Richter; a subject on which she published a definitive book in 2022.
In this exhibition, Uçku’s canvases act as psychological landscapes. Her use of form and texture explores the "surface" not merely as a physical boundary, but as a site of philosophical discovery.
