Oded Daniely was born in 1992, working in Providence, RI, USA, and studying for an MFA at RISD, working and exhibiting in Providence. He received a BFA in Multidisciplinary Arts from Shenkar, Israel.
His artworks’ interaction stirs a complex mix of emotions: fear, emptiness, suffocation, loss of control, struggle, exhaustion, satisfaction, pleasure, and an overwhelming sense of freedom.
The emotions represent different motives like nature, creatures, shadows, light, and sounds, which tell stories drawn from his life. He etches these narratives onto copper plates, prints them onto handmade paper, and connects them into a book form. The motifs also take the form of wallpapers made with KOZO. He processes the fiber, dyes it, and casts it into colorful pulp paintings.
